Paule Lagacé
"Painting, for me, is a search for life as it is today. What matters most is the expression of my characters what they radiate, their emotion, their personality, their connection to the present. They live in the now and move forward with me through life. When I was 20, my characters were somewhat naïve or idealistic; since then, they've gone through and are still going through all kinds of life stages. They arrived in Montreal with me in 1979: childhood in 1981, sensuality, happiness, passion, misfortune, sadness, travels..."
In truth, painting is the continuation of life. What matters is to keep moving forward and always searching further.
